DAY 1

After arriving to Lithaunia, your first stop will be Karves Ola - the most famous and largest sinkhole in Lithuiania - and 32 meters Kirkilai viewtower where you will be able to see the terrain of karst ditch in Sanctuary of Kirkilai landscape.

When traveling in the northern part of Lithuania, it is necessary to visit the town of Birzai, where you will find the longest pedestrian bridge in Lithuania over lake Sirvena leading to the magnificent Renaissance-Baroque style Birzai Castle. It is also worth to spend time visiting the Sela Museum in the castle and learn all about the history and culture of the Birzai region.

In the afternoon you will reach Pakruojis, where you will visit synagogue and Pakruojis manor - the largest manor in Lithuania. Local guide will tell you all about the history, life and people of the manor. Come and take part in impressive programs, learn lots of interesting matters and facts, and explore the manor with completely renovated premises still breathing history, as well as manor park, inviting you to frolic.

Overnight in Pakruojis manor, where you will be able to feel like a tue courtier.

 

DAY 2

You will start your day with a drive from Pakruojis to Anyksciai, where you will visit Treetop walking path. The Anyksciai Treetop walking path, located in the famous Anyksciai Pinewood is the only treetop path in the Baltic States. The path is in the level of the tree crowns and it lasts for 300 meters, evenly going up to 21 meters high that will help you to get to know and experience the variety of Lithuanian forests. This afternoon you can choose to visit a Narrow gauge railway museum or a fun activity and visit bobsleigh tracks in Kalita hill - the only bobsleigh track in Lithuania!

Moletai is known not only for its nature with many lakes, but also for Ethnocosmology museum and Observatory. Even though you will not be able to see the stars during the daytime visit, you will be able to look at the sun and see volcanoes - protuberances.

Not far from there stop in Mindunai village. See a picturesque panoramic view from the viewtower and visit Ancient Lake fishing museum, which is located in a restored fisherman’s cottage. In the museum you can get to know different catching devices, nets, fishing rods, weaving nets and more.

Last stop of the day is Labanoras Wood Trail. Labanoras forest is the biggest one in Lithuania so there is plenty of space to escape from the noise of the city and enjoy evening in nature.

DAY 3

After breakfast you will drive to Stripeikiai ancient beekeeping museum. The museum that presents the history of beekeeping in Lithuania not only displays a wide diversity of ancient hives and beekeeping utensils, but also offers to taste the Radziwiłł (Radvila) family dessert, make a pure wax candle or even submerge into honey aromatherapy! You will learn how bees were defended from bears, see the mythological sculptures of the god and the goddess of bees, and visit an ancient barn to become acquainted with plants that are the source of honey to bees.

On the way to Ignalina, do not miss a stop in Ladakalnis - one of the most impressive sights in Aukstaitija National Park with a view of six different lakes surrounded by forested areas.

Later in the day you will visit Ignalina, where you will find the museum of Sakotis - the first and only of this kind in the world. Sakotis is a traditional desert in Lithuania and in this museum amongst the other ones you will also be able to see the biggest one in the world - it is even in the Guinness World Records!

Next stop on the trip is Dubingiai. Visitors are welcomed by the natural landscape, wooden bridge across the lake of Asveja and of course Dubingiai castle ruins. Dubingiai castle is dated back to the 13th century and the ruins are the biggest and one of the most if not the most impressive castle sites in Lithuania.

Last stop of the day - Kernave, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, is a fortification system of five hill-forts with a unique archaeological and historical value. Over an area of 194, numerous archaeological finds and the landscape formed in the course of history testify to the cultures which have existed in the area for 11,000 years. It left an invaluable heritage: burial ground with amazing grave goods, the traces of burnt ducal castles and the remains of a town of craftsmen and merchants, which has disappeared. For Lithuanians, however, Kernave is a symbol of statehood, the capital of pagan Lithuania, about which there are many legends and stories.

DAY 4

After breakfast – morning sightseeing tour will introduce you to Vilnius. Vilnius is known for its more than 1.200 medieval buildings and 48 churches. Walking tour (2,5-3 hours) includes visiting of the Old Town with Vilnius Cathedral, Gediminas Tower, St. Anne’s Church, Old University, the Gates of Dawn, Uzupis district which is known as the independent republic of Vilnius city.

DAY 5

Your first stop after leaving Vilnius is a small village Darguzis and its Cheese house. Here you will have a chance to taste cheese from local cheesmakers who milk their own cows, make cheese and enjoy it themselves so there is no doubt it must be good!

Next on the agenda - Trakai. It is a historic, picturesque town with a castle in the middle of the lake. Locals take a day trip there and we invite you for one as well. See Trakai Castle, lakes and beautiful views around. Trakai used to be a medieval residence of Lithuanian Grand Dukes. Once a significant and powerful town, nowadays Trakai is enjoying tranquility and a status of summer resort with its only 5000 residents. The town is also famous for it's Karaim community living here since the 14th century who make "kibinai" the best local pastries in the area.

After a short drive you will reach Aukstadvaris with another natural monument - Devils Pit. This is the deepest pit in Lithuania, about 40 meters deep, so do not miss the opportunity for a short stop here or even a longer one enjoying the surrounding nature!

Later on this day you will reach Birstonas - our resort town, surrounded by the loop of our longest river Nemunas. Enjoy nature, clean air and small town coziness or pick an active evening activity like hiking, walking or cycling.

DAY 6

After breakfast, you will drive to Rumsiskes.

Rumsiskes village is one of the largest open air museums in Europe where you can see a smaller version of 18-19th century Lithuania where traditional houses from all ethnographic regions were built in one place.

The day continues with a drive to Kaunas. Before entering the city, visit the Pazaislis monastery - one of the most mesmerising examples of late baroque in North-Eastern Europe, contributing to the history of Kaunas for over 350 years. People have been praying here for peace and the prosperity of Lithuania since 1664 when the chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania – Kristupas Žygimantas Pacas – gave the Pažaislis manor to the Camaldolese monks.

Kaunas city, situated in the center of Lithuania, is our former temporary capital of Lithuania and Europe’s capital of Culture 2022. Local guide will reveal to you how it felt to be in independent Lithuania between two World Wars, and how this vibrant city lives today.
