Go all into the topic of Soviet Union and Cold War and discover how it felt to live under the red flag. During this tour you will be introduced to the most important sites of Vilnius during the Soviet times and get deeper understanding of the KGB repressions in the Genocide victims museum. On the other hand you will explore a nuclear bunker near Kaunas and will get an exclusive chance to visit a Cold War museum near Plateliai to get a first hand experience and knowledge about this dark period of history.
This tour includes a guide/tour leader during the whole trip and transportation by a minivan or a car.
Day 1.
Arrival and private airport transfer to you hotel. Free evening. Overnight in Vilnius.
Day 2.
In the morning you will have a Soviet themed walking tour that includes a guided tour in the KGB museum ex-prison which is one of the most visited museums and has a lot to tell about the time. Walking tour continues along the river Neris where you will see the real examples of remaining Soviet architecture and hear the stories behind it. The afternoon at your leisure or you can choose some optionals such as Lithuanian food or beer tasting. Overnight in Vilnius 3* hotel.
Day 3.
During this day you will get deeper into the Cold War history and memories that are still alive in some remote places of Lithuania. Early in the morning we will leave Vilnius and after 1,5 hours we will arrive in the outskirts of Kaunas where we will explore a secret KGB bunker which is hidden 6 meters underground. During the tour you will have a real chance to see the original artefacts from the Cold War and Soviet times such as secret surveillance equipment and devices used by KGB as seen in the James Bond movies. Later we will continue our trip to Plateliai (2,5 hours drive) were we will visit former Cold War Nuclear Missile base - the only museum of such kind in Europe. You will have a guided tour in the museum and get a unique chance to see the shaft where the Soviets kept missiles with nuclear warheads ready to launch and start another world war. After the tour we recommend to have lunch at the local homestead ‘Pas tevukus’ which makes the best Samogitian food (the western region of Lithuania) - full authentic lunch price is around 20EUR (payable in place). After lunch we will drive back to Vilnius (3,5hours). Overnight in Vilnius 3* hotel.

Departure day. Private transfer to the airport.
